Undercut for Airbags
Nowadays airbags for driver and passenger have simply become a matter of course. So that it is possible in this area to dispense with seams and nevertheless to ensure that the leather tears at a defined breaking point and allows the airbag to deploy, Wollsdorf Leder has perfected the technique of undercutting the leather. Thus, since 2002 it has been possible using this innovative technique to produce leather coverings for airbag units without visible seams.
Uncompromisingly Smooth
This opens up completely new dimensions for car designers. It is possible to put innovative ideas and styling into practice without limits.
At the technical core of undercutting is a CNC-controlled system in which the leather is cut into but not cut through using an oscillating cut. Comprehensive inspections and documentation guarantee the reliability of this process.

Wollsdorf provides package solutions for leather airbags from a single source. The customer supplies the design concept and we implement the idea through to the finished product.
